Boschaero\Naval Research Lab Daily Report
Tuesday 5-25-99

We got to the airfield just before sunrise.
I had the airplane pulled from the hangar to pre flight.
During the pre flight inspection we found a cracked air scoop. I am removing it so we can make a sleeve in order to repair the problem.
This is the broken air scoop.
I'VE GOT YOUR INNER ISLAND PHONE SERVICE RIGHT HERE LADY!
With a big smile and a hi ho we were off to the store.
After going to several stores we finally found something we could use to make a sleeve. No one can ever say to us "You have everything but the kitchen sink in there" again.
here is the piece before I cut off a 3 inch section to complete the repair.
After a quick jolt of the local refreshment the job was finished.
The job is done. The sleeve was clamped and riveted to the original piece and new screws were used to mount the clamp.
We finished the repair in the nick of time. It began to rain moments after we put the tools away.
