Boschaero\Naval Research Lab Daily Report
5-19-00

Sunrise!
Upon our arrival at Lee Stocking Island, we were greeted by Lowell, Curt, Jeff, Megan and Mary as they roared up to board the airplane.
After I explained to Lowell that his picture from the previous day ended up on the web, he wanted to make sure and say hi to his family ... "Hi Alex, Jennifer and Hana."

This was the start of one of the best data collections ever, from a flight line perspective. We flew every line perfectly.
As the morning progressed, clouds began to move in.
Toward the end of the 3-hour mission, the clouds really began to form up.

The now familiar, narrow runway at Lee Stocking Island.
There is no wonder why the computers must be wrapped in plastic bags during the ride back to the lab. Megan and Jeff battle the dusty drive.
The press arrive for "Media Day."

Mary and Jim put the raid drives into her backpack for safe transport back to the lab. These drives contain the last 3 hours of work and are very valuable.
We were treated to a great lunch at the Lizzard Lounge.
Megan chats with some of the local wildlife.

I think Megan has had enough of the picture taking now ...
Wild-man Lowell and his trusty 4x4.
After visiting the Caribbean Marine Research Center, the camera crew moved onto the aircraft and the NRL project. Here is a crew member inside ...

Around ...
And under Annie.
If it were not for the Perry Institute For Marine Science and the efforts of James Chomen and many other folks, there would be no scientists on Lee Stocking Island helping to heal our oceans.

Our landing back at Exuma was exciting. Jim is getting very proficient at cross-wind landings. This one was almost a direct cross at 14 knots.
Bring your fishin' pole, Uncle Tom.
We brought our poles ... (hahaha)

Jim rustled up some local chow.
